About Renée Builes,

Renée grew up in Leelanau County, and started spending time in kitchens with her father at an early age. Over the years she has worked in every job possible in the food industry: including dishwasher, salad girl, prep cook, line cook, waitress, banquet supervisor, and restaurant manager. At age 18, Renée left Leelanau County and has lived and traveled all over the country and the world. In doing so she gained an appreciation and passion for diverse cultures and world cuisines.

In 2002, while a manager for TGI Fridays in Nashville, Renée and her husband, Fernando, decided to throw in the towel on the corporate world and return to beautiful Northern Michigan to raise their family. Instead of continuing to punch a time clock for someone else, she decided to re-establish her father's catering business. Renée enjoys the intensity, creativity and the details of planning and executing a perfect party; and she personally supervises each event. Service and presentation are her specialties.
